Volunteers

Volunteers will make all the difference at WRICH 2023. We are committed to promote and preserve the well-being of the competitors, volunteers, and spectators in every interaction.

The operational and logistical details of the World Rowing Indoor Championships are overseen by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) led by ten Volunteer Team Leads. The LOC has been meeting for the past year to prepare for hosting WRICH 2023.

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic volunteers to join the WRICH 2023 LOC Team. There are approximately 120 volunteer opportunities needed on race weekend to manage everything from registration, hospitality to medal ceremonies.

Review the following to determine if this applies to you:

    • You must be 16 years or older as of January 1, 2023 to volunteer at WRICH 2023.
    • You must be available on the weekend (both days) of February 25-26, 2023 for a minimum of 5 hours per day.
    • Be available to attend training events in the lead up to the event (online and in-person).
    • Be flexible to address operational needs of the championships. The LOC will ensure assignments are a match to skill sets and volunteers have the resources, training, and credentials to be successful in their role at WRICH.
    • Be willing to sign a Volunteer Code of Conduct and adhere to policies of the LOC.
    • All volunteers must be able to comply with any local Health and Safety protocols or mandated requirements (e.g. vaccinations) if required at the time of the event.

Volunteer sign up portal for WRICH 2023 is now open.

All volunteers will be able to apply online using our volunteer software VolunteerLocalThe form will ask for background information, previous applicable volunteer experience such as previously volunteering with CIRC, and skills and knowledge to ensure a good fit. If selected for further consideration, a background check and screening will be conducted in accordance with RCA’s Safe Sport policy.

We expect to receive more applications than we can accommodate so volunteer spots are not guaranteed. Applications are accepted based on need by our Operations and Logistics Team. All accepted applicants will be notified in December (2022) and scheduled for training and screening.

Once you have submitted a volunteer application, you can check your volunteer profile & status here.
