Applying for a Visa

If you are applying for a Visa to Canada to attend the World Rowing Indoor Championships on February 25-26, 2023, please read the following.

Most people will need a temporary resident Visa (visitor) OR an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada – not both. Some people may only need their valid passport.  A visitor Visa (also called a temporary resident Visa) is an official document that Immigration attach in your passport. It shows that you meet the requirements needed to enter Canada. To check if you need a Temporary Visa, go to this website.

If you need a VISA, you will also need a Letter of Invitation from the Organizing Committee. The WRICH 2023 is a registered international event with Canada Immigration. The Letter of Invitation does not guarantee that a Visa will be issued. Visa officers assess applicants to find out if they are eligible to visit Canada. Some Visa offices may need these letters to be notarized.

All other travellers must lodge an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization). This is a simple online form that takes just 5 minutes to complete. Go to this link when you know your flight details and fill in the eTA.
